Canadian Customer Goes Double-Double-Vision

Vision Coatings Limited is the newest member of the Vision Group of Companies.

They provide advanced coating and finishing services for PVC and aluminium extrusion companies, window fabricators, and others in the fenestration industry. They offer a wide selection of colour choices and highly-durable finishing options, and can handle high-volume production orders.

Operating out of a brand new 50,000 sq. ft. facility in the Greater Toronto Area, they chose Schuberts and their Canadian partners, Yorke Towne as their chosen supplier for their new site.

Vision ordered a double length Schubox gas IR system, back in 2020. Such was the performance of the Schubox drying system, they ordered another system!

Dry cure times are now a remarkable 20 mins each cycle.

So, a double-double Schubox!

UK Door Manufacturer Invests With Schuberts

Portico Doors are a leading manufacturer of Composite Doors, with a reputation for providing the highest quality of product.

Schuberts were the chosen partner for their brand new factory site, designing and supplying a turn-key finishing system.

The installation comprises of a spray shop enclosure, with full auto-air balance system, pre-conditioning the supply air to ensure a clean working environment. An ajustable divider panel allows two sprayers to work within the zone.

The flash-off chamber allows the coating to flow and settle out properly before drying.

A custom Schubox gas catalytic IR drying system, allows the coating to be dried very quickly, at low temperature, leaving less WIP and a through-dry product that can go directly to fit-up and then packing.

New And Old At Virtuoso

Schuberts have just installed a turn-key Giardina autospray line at Virtuoso Doors as well as their older manual finishing system.

The philosophy of the new line was borne out of extensive testing and trials at our Sheffield Test Centre and proved to the customer there was only one solution that would work.

A cantilevered loading table at the start of the line starts the process, followed by infeed conveyor and then mechanical brushing with the brilliant flex-trim systems. The brushing machine has oscillation, speed, direction and height controls as well as a vacuum bed. This ensures the best surface preparation.

After brush sanding, there is an open section to allow application of prep-clean liquid before the cleaning and de-ionising process.

The spray machine 420 dry is fitted with 2 circuits and Wagner pumps and guns to give a consistent and even coverage of the coatings. This machine is processing full size doors as well as components.

Once sprayed, the products enter a flash-off tunnel, with incoming air is filtered, the air warmed to 30c and the paint vapours extracted to atmosphere.

After the flash-off, the products go through a jetted air tunnel at 45-50c for drying.

This new Giardina line from Schuberts goes hand in hand with the original manual system consisting of sprayshop enclosure with full autobalance, flash-off, Schubox drying system and paint mixing room.

New 420 Automatic Spray Machine Launched

Schuberts presents the Giardina “Dualtech 420”, the first stage of the renovation process that will affect the entire range of “Dualtech” automatic through-fee spraying machines, a technology that represents fifty years of experience in spray painting in the name of quality, reliability, flexibility and ease of use.

Among the most interesting technical features the two opposing painting arms that guarantee an optimal application both on the surface and on the edges of the panel and the technology for the recovery of the paint that falls on the conveyor belt and the cleaning system of the latter, solutions that have no equal in terms of very low consumption of the cleaning solvent, a longer life of the belt, and a high simplicity of operation.

Each machine in the “Dualtech” range can be equipped with accessories and technological solutions to further increase flexibility, productivity, and reliability, such as the quick gun exchange system “Dualfast”, which allows you to change guns – and consequently the spraying cycle – in less than 60 seconds or the automatic vertical positioning system of the guns, or the electronic control of the ventilation inside the spray chamber, perfect for extending the efficiency and operating time of the sprayer.

Composite Door Manufacture Installs Second Schubert Finishing System

The UK’s fastest growing and probably best-know producer of composite GRP doors has taken delivery of a second turn-key bespoke finishing system from Schuberts.

The line incorporates an overhead conveyor track, spray shop clean room with filtered air input and extract, flash-off zone and Schubox drying technology.

Once prepped and cleaned, the doors are hung onto the conveyor and moved into the spray shop for coating. Both the air input and extraction are inverter driven, giving a balanced air flow irrespective of the condition of the filters. The sensors fitted to the spray shop will even tell the operators when to change the filters.

The flash-off section allows the coating to flow and settle before going into the catalytic IR zone for rapid drying in about 45 minutes.

Once dried, the products are taken off the line and moved into the rest of the factory production system.
