ROLE 1

 

Projects Manager For a Rapidly Growing Finishing Equipment Supplier.

 

We are a highly specialised, niche business, with every single installation being unique. The successful candidate not only has to have some experience in the finishing industry, but also able to manage projects within a small dynamic and rapidly growing company.

To oversee Finishing Systems projects from the onset of order placement through to completion, ensuring that work is completed to specification, on time and within budget. To be responsible for managing “project installations” while working closely with all departments, clients, onsite engineers and contractors.

To maintain accurate digital records at all times. To ensure that the correct procedures are followed as set out by the Company and implement improvements as required to ensure a positive customer installation.

The role to be based at Provincial Park (Sheffield site) and field based, certain technical/follow-up work could be carried out remotely via laptop.

 

Responsibilities:-

  • To ensure that the company meets its customers’ expectations with regard to the delivery of its finishing equipment (manual and automatic).
  • Understand and comply with the company’s contractual obligations with suppliers and customers.
  • Manage the costs associated with the above provision.
  • Have availability to travel within the UK but also to key suppliers in Italy/Holland/Denmark.
  • To be able to draw/read/modify CAD drawings and interpret the customer requirements.
  • To have an understanding of current ATEX regulations.
  • Keep up to date on health and safety regulations.
  • Preparing RAMS and Scope of Works for individual projects.
  • Attend customer site meetings as and when required both in UK and occasionally outside UK.
  • To ensure the company operates good working practices and follows Quality Control procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability of planning, scheduling & Time Management and pass these onto suppliers and in-house engineers.
  • Understand and work to tight deadlines.
  • Liaise and plan with all other departments with regards to Fabrication and Service to ensure delivery of the project.
  • To issue clear communications and instructions to colleagues and customers alike to ensure transparency.
  • To carry out any new tasks that occur as a result of development of the department’s processes and /or as directed by the Directors.
  • To address any issues arising with an “installation” through the Non Conformance Report Register, address the issues with any personnel, implement procedures and/or corrective action.

 

Qualifications:-

  • Educated to college standards
  • IPAF/site safety Cards (Desirable)

 

Skills & Experience:-

  • Computer Literate in CAD/3D drawing suite, Office (Evidence Required)
  • Spray/Finishing/Coatings Industry Experience. (Desirable)
  • Technical Drawings.
  • Understanding of fabrication techniques of spray booths/rooms/machines/ducting.
  • Understanding Construction & Site conditions & working practices.
  • Preparing Risk Assessments & Method statements.
  • Demonstrate assertiveness when required.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Able to work as a team player and lead small groups.
  • Able to develop relationships.
  • Able to communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Able to demonstrate and use initiative.
  • Confident Decision Maker.
  • Maintaining & improving Customer Service Levels.
  • Business Acumen (Desirable).
  • Organisational & Planning/Scheduling skills.

ROLE 2

Senior Site and Installation Technician

 

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Projects Manager and Directors, this role includes working as part of a team installing finishing plant equipment throughout the UK and sometimes overseas. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing their own workload, working with installation teams whilst liaising directly with other site personal and Schuberts customers to assist and deliver projects on time.

The key to this role is experience and flexibility. Every site will be different and each installation unique. The successful candidate could be a mechanical fitter/maintenance engineer from a manufacturing environment. You could be apprentice trained or time-served and confident working on production and manufacturing finishing equipment.

This role is predominately customer site based, although office-based activities will be required, including liaising with Project Managers/Directors to ensure the successful completion of Customer requirements from placement of order right through to commissioning. Other duties involved within this role are outlined below.

 

Main Duties will include:

  • Install spray booths, enclosures, gas IR ovens, automatic spray lines, overhead conveyors.
  • Project plan, utilising the necessary resources as required.
  • Read and Interpret CAD drawings.
  • Using various hand and pneumatic tools, to carry out routine daily tasks.
  • Working on various sites, including MOD, wood, metal, glass, aerospace and plastic processing sites.
  • Servicing existing installations (airflow tests, gas pressure checks etc)

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Possess 2 or more years’ experience installing finishing plant equipment.
  • Able to understand engineering assembly drawings.
  • IPAF/FLT/MWEPS certificates.
  • Gas safe certification would be an advantage.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards.
  • An understanding of fabrication techniques, assembly and modifications.
  • Must possess a clean UK driving licence and be prepared to travel, stay overnight and occasional work abroad.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, whilst able to work equally well using your own initiative or as part of small skilled teams.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Possess strong customer relation skills as this role requires interaction with a variety of key stakeholders including colleagues and customers.
  • Be enthusiastic, analytical and possess a methodical approach towards your work.
  • Attention to detail and quality is paramount, with a continuous improvement mind-set.
