New Giardina Auto-Spray Line Installed For A Very Special Use

One of the worlds largest manufacturers of engineered sealing solutions has taken delivery of a custom width Giardina coating line from Schuberts.

Built to a working width of 1500mm, this line sprays a very accurate layer of product, recovers all the overspray, to be filtered and used again and then dried inside an inline drying tunnel.

The automatic belt cleaning system on the spray machine means that all overspray is recovered. It then passes through filters and back into a constant mixing stainless steel tank, before being dosed back into the machine.

The automatic guns are positioned inline and fitted with very accurate nozzles and the machine has the ability to control flow, pressure and therefore build-up of coating.

Once sprayed, the product goes into a high speed jetted air oven, connected to in-line waterheaters and heat exchanges so the oven can run at a steady 70-80c irrespective of the factory temperature.

Running at 6m/min, this really is a special fully automatic Giardina spray line supplied by Schuberts!

Ever wondered what a Giardina Vertical Oven looks like and works?

The four-stage vertical oven designed and built by GiardinaGroup and available through Schuberts, optimally performs the four phases that characterize a perfect drying process: flash-off, first heating, second heating, and finally cooling.

The drying curve is guaranteed by the four stages in which the oven is structured, one for each phase, and each stage is separated from the other by dividing panels. In other two- or three-stage ovens, instead, some of the four phases are performed in the same spaces, therefore a homogeneous separation between them is not guaranteed and the zones are joined, mixing air and conditions inside – a less than ideal situation!

The version of four-stage vertical oven presented in the above video link, adopts a belt tray system, perfect for small pieces (there are no dangers related to their handling or dropping through) and for large and heavy elements which, being able to rest on a large and regular surface, do not risk any damage or marking to the contact surface already painted, with the tray system offered by others.

On request, it is possible to have the GiardinaGroup four-stage oven in an ideal set-up for those who have to process both thin pieces (flat doors) and high-thickness ones (curved doors): by reducing the number of trays the problem is solved, keeping the duration in each phase and for each product, whatever its thickness, constant and homogeneous.

Canadian Manufacturer Takes Delivery Of A New Finishing System From Schuberts

A new Schubert installation has been made, with our partners at Yorke Towne, at one of Canada’s premier residential, joinery and commercial manufacturing companies, supplying their customers for over 20 years.

The installation comprises of a fully custom built flash-off and Schubox drying system, connected to a manual spray shop.

Once sprayed, the product is taken into the flash-off zone to settle and vent. The flash-off air is taken into the Schubox for oxidisation of VOC’s.

After flash-off, the Schubox is next. Working at just 40c, it pulls the solvent carriers out and cross-links the coating in record time. After 30 mins in the Schubox, the coatings are perfectly dry and ready for either denibbing or fitting up after topcoat.

High End Bespoke Producer Installs A New Schuberts Installation

A leading British manufacturer of exquisite bespoke furniture, cabinetry and specialist joinery has installed a finishing system from Schuberts. Craftmanship, attention to detail and peerless service are central to the company’s ethos and has ensured successful collaborations with eminent private, professional and commercials clients worldwide.

With finishes ranging from 1k solvent, 2k solvent, waterbased and specialist coatings, the client is at the top end of the industry.

The new, totally bespoke finishing system, includes for twin spray shops, paint mix room/storage room and drying room.

All elements of the installation are ATEX rated for solvent use.

Each zone has it’s own filtered air input system, ensuring that the zones are kept free from contamination. The spray zones work with auto-balance inverter driven fans, ensuring that dust and contamination is kept out of the rooms when the doors are open, or the filters start to clog. The HMI touch screen tells the operators the condition of the filters and air pressures.

Cobra, Toronto, Trust Schuberts And Giardina For A Flexible Finishing System

One of Canada’s leading manufacturers of wood, steel and GRP doors has recently taken delivery of a new Schuberts manual finishing system and a Giardina automatic spray machine integrated into one special plant.

The entire system comprises of a manual spray shop enclosure, flash-off zone, Schubox drying system, paint mixing room, Giardina 416 automatic spray machine, infeed and outfeed conveyors with filtered air systems.

When the customer has volumes of doors and components to spray in one colour, they use the Giardina machine, offload onto trolleys in the flash-off, allow the coating to flow out and then put the trolleys into the Schubox for drying. The guns and pumps have been fitted by and the whole installation looked after by our working partner in Canada, Yorke Towne Supplies.

On smaller volumes, special colours or coatings and 3D products, they hand spray in the spray shop enclosure, then flash-off and then into the Schubox for curing.

This client works with multiple substrates (wood, GRP, PVC etc) and multiple types of 1k, 2k, water and solvent coatings, so truly a universal hybrid finishing system.

TFT USA Choose Schuberts As Their Finishing System Supplier

TFT, USA, based in Charlotte NC, have had a complete finishing system installed from Schuberts.

The system comprises of a custom built finishing line and cutting/sanding room. All to ATEX, UL and FM standards.

Designed for steel fabrications, wood, PVC, fibreglass doors (GRP) and a whole host of other substrates, this is a truly flexible finishing system.

Products are either hung on the overhead track and suspended from above or taken inside on trolleys and sprayed on turn-tables.

The spray shop enclosure features full HMI control, automatic booth balancing system, filtered air input and benefits from local HARU, meaning the temperature and cleanliness of the spray shop is maintained at all times.

Once coated, the pieces are taken into the flash-off zone to flow out and vent prior to rapid curing in the Schubox catalytic IR drying system.

The Schubox, running at 38-45c pulls the carrier out of the coating very quickly, without affecting the substrates.

After the Schubox, the pieces are either de-nibbed or ready for further processing.

A paint mix room has been installed for the intermediate storage of coatings, accurate mixing and colour matching.

The cutting/clean room is a separate installation for cutting, cleaning, wiping down and de-nibbing or de-burring on Sandbox downdraft tables.
